Thank you for taking the time to apply to become an editor at Vanguard Think Tank! Our editing team is an essential part of our research process, creating a collaborative system with researchers to mutually improve output on its way to publication.
We are looking for three editors, whose duties include:
ensuring stringent editing and expeditious processing of articles;
making pre-final decisions on whether the articles will be published after edits have been incorporated before sending them to the editor in chiefs;
along with your co-editors, setting the editorial tone of the publication and maintaining excellent content through the publication of a diverse range of papers.
The main role of an editor is to ensure that all guidelines have been met by the researcher, the piece fits all the criterias of VTT’s standards and is able to put forth a constructive argument. As an editor at VTT, you can make a true impact by providing valuable feedback to your peers. Joining the VTT editorial team is a commitment: you will need to invest time and effort to serve your professional community as an editor.
Qualifications:
The Candidate should either be enrolled in university or at a graduate school
Preferred experience in editing/research publication
Demonstrated expertise in international relations, geopolitical affairs, and foreign affairs
Be willing to work on deadlines
Be able to commit 3-4 hours per week; however, this remains flexible based on the intake of articles
Demonstrated experience handling a significant editorial workload and ability to make timely decisions.
Due to VTT’s extensive breadth of topics covered, the applicant must clearly express willingness to handle papers outside of their main disciplines.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and be responsive to author needs.
